The Coastal Water Space Allocation Plan was commissioned by Environment Canterbury and provided an assessment of the coastal marine area of Canterbury’s ability to absorb marine farms. Preparation of the plan involved an analysis of the biophysical restraints, economic analysis and cultural impact assessment. Public and stake holder consultation was also involved.
