CGLA designed these two interconnected subdivisions in Prebbleton, on the outskirts of Christchurch which has been zoned for major residential development.

At Birchwood, the design utilises colour coordinated features so as to create a sense of identity for this community. Focal points include entrance statements, lighting, tree planting and connection to Edwards, a smaller neighbouring subdivision. This boutique housing estate has a wonderful canopy of pin oaks as street trees with a palette of evergreen shrubs. A green corridor pedestrian and cyle pathway flows through the site from the adjacent "Birchwood" subdivision. It is now a peaceful and rural setting in which to live.
