LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE SERVICES
We are creative and analytical thinkers, with many years experience in the conceptualisation and development of designs for landscape, masterplanning and urban design projects. We are well experienced in undertaking landscape assessment work, often acting as an expert witness when required.
We are not just Christchurch landscape architects as we are called upon to work throughout New Zealand and also internationally. Our landscape architecture projects have ranged from large scale commercial and public realm to small scale and residential.
Initial consultation
A project typically starts out with a discussion or meeting with one of our landscape architects in order to establish the scope of works and a brief that will fulfil the needs of the client.
Landscape assessment
Occasionally, for certain projects, a landscape assessment may be required for resource consent. This would usually be carried out before a design is undertaken so any mitigation identified can be integrated into the landscape proposals.
Landscape design
Site visit and scoping
Following establishment of the brief, we will often visit the site where we may perform a site scoping and measure-up if required.
The landscape design phase
A concept design is developed for initial presentation to the client. Once approved, this may then progress to a developed design stage for further evolution and final approval.
Detailed design and construction drawings
Detailed design and construction drawings include the drawings necessary for construction of the proposal by the contractor. A landscape design package is usually provided, according to specific requirements. Drawings can typically include detailed landscape and planting plans, hardscape plans, levels, setting out plans among others.
Our team of landscape architects are skilled at producing drawing packages for construction to meet a range of requirements including New Zealand standards, overseas, resource consent, local and regional council specifications and specific consent requirements. We are also used to working with other disciplines to ensure our work meets the appropriate standards. Specification documentation can also be provided if required.
Tendering and contract documentation
In a landscape construction tender process, parties are usually invited to bid for the opportunity to construct a landscape project. Documentation produced for the tender process may include detailed drawing packages, schedules of quantities, specification documents, contract documents to NZS: 3910 and NZS: 3915, tender evaluation.
We have many years experience running successful tenders for construction contracts and are able to manage the entire process through to the start of the contract and beyond.
Contract management and administration
We have managed and administered many successful contracts to a high standard and successful final completion.
Our landscape architects are experienced working with contractors and the local council to meet their standards and specifications and also ensuring the construction meets the requirements of our private clients.
We are often responsible for keeping a project organised and running in a smooth and timely manner.
