The Maori Student Studies Centre specialises in the collection and dissemination of resources relating to the research of Maori culture. The planning and design of the site required an understanding of the spiritual relationship between Maori culture and the landscape. The resulting design represents a synthesis of the primary elements of earth, wind and fire through the use of vernacular materials sourced from the Canterbury region.
